LATEST NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:

We are pleased to announce that in July, Tim Sweeney and his associated firm were notified by Malcolm Reading Consultants in London, England of their selection to participate in the Haitian Prototype housing Exposition known as the Building Back Better Communities ("BBBC") Competition (www.malcolmreading.co.uk/bbbc/).  This selection places Tim and his firm within an elite group of finalists from around the world who have already conceptually designed and will build their respective housing solutions in Port-au-Prince.

In August, the finalists participated in a Briefing Session with the Haitian government officials and the Interim Haiti Reconstruction Commission, co-chaired by President Bill Clinton.  In October, the built solutions are scheduled to be available for viewing in the Expo, and the most preferred solution(s) will be selected to become part of the new exemplar housing development known as the Orange site.

The Selection Committee consists of many notable organizations and individuals, such as the World Bank, the Clinton Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, Architecture for Humanity, John McAslan + Partners, and ARUP, and so the BBBC competition is seen as a watershed in setting new design and construction standards for not only Haiti, but also for other disaster-torn and developing countries.  Full disclosure of the Sweeney/Nexus Team's unique designs and proposals will be released in the near future.
